Software and Sewing Info

Helpful sewing & software info:

Check out http://www.sewingmachine.com/! The store in West Point, GA is NOW OPEN and they are listed as one of Brother's authorized service centers! I can't say enough about Steve T. and his customer service in servicing both of my machines in a matter of a couple of days! E-mail me if you want further info or see my 12/14/09 blog post!!

You can find Monogram Wizard Plus info at:
http://www.needleheads.com/
I believe you can even download a trial version! You can also view all of their fonts and extra alpha paks and get info about the new upgrade!

You can find Sew What Pro info at:
http://www.sandscomputing.com/
Again, you can download a 30 day trial version. This is a great $65 merge software that allows you to merge files (applique design with a name, for example). I don't know what I did before Sew What Pro!

I got both of my Brother machines (PE700 and PE750D) at:
http://www.kenssewingcenter.com/
They are located in Muscle Shoals, AL. I also buy my thread from Ken's. Where else can you find spools of thread for $2.50!? Ask about their ACTUAL Poly-X 40 thread chart! It's not just a color chart, but has actual thread samples. Ken's also has reasonable and FAST shipping, plus $5 off coupons all the time! They also sell the MWP alpha paks, prewound bobbins and a variety of stabilizers.

Birthday Monkey FOUND!!

Thanks to Amy B. who located the adorable birthday monkey! Click here for the Birthday Monkey!! The one from Pegasus is cute too!

Schools are closed tomorrow (BOO!)!! Not that I want to endanger anyone, but seeing as though mine have been out of school since December 18th and I've been with them other than the few days they spent at Granmommies (and the 4 hours they were in school on Wednesday), I'm a little dissappointed that I won't get another break til MONDAY!! It's not like I can send them outside into the 30 degree weather to play!! So we'll be here for the duration cooped up inside fighting over the Wii... fun times!! Oh well! At the very least it would be nice to see some snow instead of just freezing cold rain! :)

SIX new designs!!

I've just uploaded 6 new designs to http://www.appliquecafe.com/! We've been very productive over the Christmas break! The 6 new designs are pictured above at the top right hand side of my blog and are all featured on the website home page. Check it out and take advantage of the 30% off sale through Sunday!

Here is another burp cloth I did last night - AC petal patch again with the EB swirly "B" and this time I used the Monogram Wizard Plus Exact Script "M" and Sydney "C", so the opposite of the other burp cloth I did!

Is there an important football game on tonight? I keep hearing something about horns!!?? We are Auburn fans (and Troy University is my alma mater) but we'll be watching the game (or Jeff will) tonight! We did watch most of the Troy game last night and unfortunately, they lost in overtime! :( Go Trojans anyway!!

This is why I *heart* Sew What Pro!!

I did this on a burp cloth today and it just reinforces my love for Sew What Pro (http://www.sandscomputing.com/). One day they will start paying me a commission!! So... I did the 5x7 Petal Patch from Applique Cafe with zig zag trim and the "D" from EB's Swirly Alphabet (4" letter reduced in size to about 75%), also with zig zag trim. The "L" is the Monogram Wizard Plus Sydney font, and the "C" is the MWP Exact Script font (the Sydney "C" was too curly and didn't look right). I was pleased with how it turned out!

OK... FIVE new designs are FINISHED (finally) and Jeff is uploading them now to be converted to ART! Depending on how long it takes to get them back, hopefully the NEW designs will be added in the next couple of days! There is one design in particular that I did 4 times before we got it right! We really do our best not to put just anything out there to sell. Poor Jeff had to keep changing it b/c I couldn't figure out how it was supposed to look! I think we finally got it.

All of my kiddies start back to school tomorrow (YEAH) so I plan to come home and work. I only have 2 shirts and 2 other things to do this week so far. I still have a few shirts for G in my basket and that is IT! I'm enjoying the leisurely pace because I know in a month or two I'll be swamped again! I'm almost finished reading Breaking Dawn and watched The Bachelor on my Tivo today. Quality free time!! If you watch The Bachelor, you must keep up with http://www.ihategreenbeans.com/ during the season. It is a HILARIOUS blog which recaps the show each week! Lincee should have oodles of material to work with this season!

Boy Owl and Girl Owl...

Yesterday I did the AC Owl on 2 different bibs - one for a boy and one for a girl. I hadn't done an owl for a boy yet but thought it was a great idea (not mine) and it turned out cute! The eye and name are done in brown.

Here is the full shot of the bib, which I got at Sewphisticated Stitcher. This is a great bib, so I plan to order some more just to have on hand! I think it comes in white trim as well as this pink seersucker-type stripe and also blue.

We have 3 new designs that have already been tested, and I have 2 more to test today. We'll send them later tonight to be converted to ART and then hopefully will have them back to list in the next day or two! 2 Valentine designs, our first EASTER and then 2 other designs (one of which was one of our requests). The 30% off sale at http://www.appliquecafe.com/ continues until Sunday, 1/10/10! We hope to work on more Easter stuff so if you have any suggestions (and photos help) send them my way (rosemarygulledge@knology.net or rosemarygulledge@appliquecafe.com)!

I'm married to Jeff and we have 3 kids; Browder, Garrison ("G") and Mallory ("Sissy")! After working for The Frazer Lanier Company for 10 years, I "retired" in May 2007 to stay at home with Browder and Garrison, and now Mallory too! Embroidery keeps me busy during naptime (and late at night) and I love being creative!! Jeff & I also recently started a website for applique designs we sell to other embroidery gurus, which is www.appliquecafe.com!
